Biophytis is a company, specialized in health nutrition, that develops, produces and markets a range of natural and innovative organic health ingredients, with clinically proven benefits, for nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and food industries and organic dietary supplements from the Amazonian biodiversity.
Biophytis is a Franco-Brazilian innovative company created in 2006 at the initiative of René Lafont, a biochemist at UPMC (Pierre and Marie Curie University) and Stanislas Veillet, a doctor in agronomy, the both have a passion for the Amazonian biodiversity.
Biophytis manages, in partnership with UPMC (Pierre and Marie Curie University) and AgroParisTech, an ambitious research programme focused on prevention of metabolic syndrome using natural substances from plants and fruits. Biophytis filed two patents with its main partner, UPMC: Quinolia ® (quinoa extract titrated in phytoecdysones) which reduces the development of body adipose tissue, and Bixilia ® (urucum extract titrated in bixin) which protect the skin from the damages caused by ultraviolet rays.
Biophytis develops a range of natural innovative health ingredients with plants and fruit from Amazonia. Their efficiency is proved by scientific data and clinical trials. Thanks to its expertise to bring value to active principles associated with a specific health benefit, Biophytis offer to nutraceutical and food industries the opportunity to develop new innovative dietary supplements and functional food products. Biophytis guarantees the whole traceability of its products from the raw material to the extract or finished product.
Biophytis develops also a range of organic dietary supplements, certified AB (organic farming). Biophytis Atibaia is formulated with plants and fruits from Amazonia. Biophytis selects these vegetables for their high content in active molecules.
Biophytis is established since 2009 at Biocitech, the first technology park in Paris dedicated to life sciences. The company also owns a subsidiary for sourcing and production in Brazil, Atibaia. The Biocitech technology park offers to Biophytis an environment conducive to its development through its complete range of services and complementary businesses established, allowing strong synergies.
