Urucum, protects the cells from free radicals

Urucum is a Brazilian native tree. It grows to as high as ten meters and produces a spiny, copper-colored fruit. The red seeds of the fruit are used principally for their color. They are also useful to protect the skin from the sun as they are very rich in bixin which is a natural carotenoid.
