AROLIA® derives from Euterpe oleracea, which belongs to the Arecales, is a typical palm tree of the Amazonina region. Proanthocyanidins belong to a specific group of polyphenols called flavonoids. They are recognized for their outstanding antioxidant capacity.

The antioxidant activity of the product is evaluated the ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, µmol TE/g). As shown in the figure above açaï pulp has an important antioxidant capacity (103 µmol TE/g) compared to the other fruits rich in proanthocyanidins such as raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and cranberries. Due to its proanthocyanidin content AROLIA® shows a high antioxidant content since it has an average ORAC value of 2700 (LAREAL, 2009).
