BIXILIA® derives from Bixa orellana L., which belongs to the Bixaceae, is an endemic plant from Amazonia. Bixin, a photosensitive carotenoid with a short carbon chain (C24), has an outstanding antioxidant capacity. It prevents the skin from the accelerated cell aging by neutralizing free radicals produced by UV. For evidence, preclinical studies show that BIXILIA ® reduced by more than 60% damages produced by prolonged exposure to UV.
